Postpartum Care

• You are welcome to contact us at any time with questions or concerns in the postpartum period, we remain on call for you 24/7. Our general schedule for appointments is at 24 hours, 3-5 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks. We come to your home for appointments for the first week postpartum. We are experienced in breastfeeding and will help trouble shoot when necessary to ensure you and your baby have the best possible breastfeeding relationship. 

• Well baby care - We are able to provide comprehensive well-baby care for the first 6-8 weeks of life. This includes weighing your baby, listening to their heart and lungs, and making sure they are growing and meeting the appropriate developmental milestones. After our care is finished, you should follow up and establish care with a pediatrician. 

• Well-woman gynecology - We are able to perform Pap smears as part of your midwifery care package with us. Typically this is done at your final postpartum appointment. We also provide counseling on birth control options and can recommend providers for placement or prescription, if desired.
